Activity Overview

This is a guided experience that takes you to the Río Negro Hot Springs and Volcanic Mud Baths, as well as the Oropéndola Waterfall.
 

Surrounded by dense tropical dry forest, the Río Negro Hot Springs are located in a serene and picturesque setting. Crystal-clear river waters flow alongside nearly ten riverside pools, each filled with mineral-rich thermal waters naturally heated deep within the volcano. Guests may access the hot springs from either side of the river via two hanging bridges.
 

Warm volcanic mud is available for guests to apply as a full-body mask. Once dried, the mud can be rinsed off in the refreshing cold waters of the river before returning to the thermal pools for ultimate relaxation.
 

Changing rooms, restrooms, and lockers are conveniently located at the entrance of the hot springs. From there, guests will enjoy a scenic 350-meter walk along a forest trail leading to the thermal pools.
